Stronger Together

There’s much to be said for working out with your partner. Yes, I love working out at home, but I always make time for this too.

I know some people shrink away from the idea of hitting the gym with their significant other, but the benefits go far beyond having a chauffeur. You get an accountability partner, a cheerleader, and someone to share cleaning the equipment with . But you also get to see each other in a different light - who knew that girl who is great in the kitchen can also bench her body weight? Or that guy that can balance a budget so well can also squat twice his body weight? You might be surprised what you find out about your partner if you start exercising together.

There are tons of studies to support working out together to strengthen your connection. From an increased emotional bond, more satisfaction within the relationship, and greater happiness overall.

There are also tons of studies to show how working out together strengthens you physically. You’ll likely improve the efficiency of your workouts, bringing a little more energy for greater output. You’ll also be more likely to achieve your fitness goals when you tackle them together.

If you want a quick and dirty workout, here's one of my faves for a saturday morning wake-up!

8 set of AMRAP (as many reps as possible) for 20 seconds on and 10 seconds off:

  • sprints

  • mountain climbers

  • dumbbell lunges

  • push-ups

  • jump squats

  • wall balls

  • kettlebell swings

  • bike sprints

= 34 minutes of work!
